Drunk Driver Sentenced to 10 Years Probation For Crash That Killed Woman

Douglas Wassmann was sentenced to 10 years probation and an $18,000 fine for the 2007 drunk driving crash that caused the death of Diana Sievers who was 30 years old.

Wassmann expressed his sorrow for Sievers' death. Sievers' father said that her family doesn't want to condemn him for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

He only received probation? To me that is unacceptable! He took someones life, drunk or not, and isn't given any jail-time? How is he supposed to really learn from his mistake? I received a DUI and it took me almost 5 months in jail to realize what I did was wrong and I didn't even cause an accident or hurt anyone.

You are being judge and jury online with about 10 sentences worth of info. If it took you 5 months jail time to figure out the error of your ways, there must be something wrong upstairs.

He recieved this sentence because of family...there is alot more to this story than is printed...he really was at the wrong place at the wrong time
